everything you want to know

AND EVEN SOME THINGS YOU DON'T.

We get asked these questions all the time. Curious about our process? Read on:

WHERE DO YOU FIND YOUR PARTS?

We love visiting scrapyards, antique stores, estate sales and even grab an occasional piece of junk on the side of the road. Sometimes people clean out their basements or garages and find treasures to donate to our cause, and sometimes we have to purchase certain pieces from hardware stores. However, we try to use as many found materials as possible. It’s a great way to make old unwanted things new again.

WHAT DO THEY DO?

While it would be nice if these fellas would help around the house, they are sculpture art pieces and not actual robots. Usually by the time we get our hands on a part, it doesn’t work anymore for its original purpose. And by the time we are done drilling into it, it definitely doesn’t work anymore!

HOW LONG DO THEY TAKE TO BUILD?

The timing for each robot varies greatly. Sometimes they come together quickly and sometimes they are frustratingly slow. They are all unique and therefore often come with their own unique challenges that we figure out on the fly.

DO YOU MAKE CUSTOM SCULPTURES?

If you have a bunch of junk in your garage or basement that would make better robots than than they do dust-catchers, you're in luck. We can make custom creations from your old items, adding that special sentimental touch using Grandpa's old radio or your first Polaroid camera. Just shoot us a message for more information and to get added to our schedule.

HOW DID YOU GET STARTED BUILDING ROBOTS?

We’ve been happily tinkering since 2007 when we created our very first robot named Leotron. He was meant to be a one-time project since we both loved robots and thought it would be cool to have one. However, one robot turned into two, and two turned into three, and before we knew it we had a living room full of robots lining the walls and needed to do something about it. We’ve made and sold several hundred since that day, and plan to keep on going.

And now for the boring stuff:
